Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Qingdao: Beer Culture & Historic Seaside Landmarks
Welcome to Qingdao, a coastal city known for its European-style heritage, fresh sea air, and celebrated beer culture. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport, railway station, or hotel and escort you to begin your sightseeing.
Your first stop is the Qingdao Beer Museum, where you will follow the story of one of China’s most famous breweries. See how beer is made, learn about the city’s brewing history, and enjoy a tasting session of freshly produced beer inside the museum.
Next, continue to the Former German Governor’s Residence Site Museum, a beautifully preserved historic building that reflects Qingdao’s colonial-era past. Walk through its furnished rooms and period displays to understand how the residence once functioned as an important administrative site.
In the afternoon, head to Xiaoyushan Park, a small hilltop park offering a broad 360-degree view of the city. From the top, you can look out over red roofs, white villas, beaches, and the coastline stretching into the sea.
End the day with a visit to Zhanqiao Pier, one of Qingdao’s most famous symbols. Take in the open bay views and enjoy a peaceful walk along the waterfront before returning to your hotel.
Overnight in Qingdao.
Day 2 – Laoshan Mountain, Taoist Heritage & Modern Waterfront
After breakfast, depart for Laoshan Mountain, one of the most famous coastal mountains in China. Today’s route focuses on the Taiqing Scenic Area, where mountain paths, temples, streams, and sea views come together in one unforgettable landscape.
Begin with a scenic walk from Bashui River to Longtan Waterfall, passing through areas of peaks, rocks, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. As you continue, enjoy changing views of the mountain and the Yellow Sea in the distance.
Then visit Shangqing Palace and Mingxia Cave, two important Taoist sites on the mountain. Mingxia Cave is especially impressive for its elevated views, while the surrounding area reflects the quiet, spiritual atmosphere of Laoshan.
Take the cable car down to Taiqing Palace, the largest Taoist temple in the area and an important center of Taoist culture in Qingdao. The temple complex offers a deeper look at the religious traditions connected with the mountain.
In the afternoon, return to the city and visit May Fourth Square, a central waterfront landmark known for its bold “May Wind” sculpture. Continue to the 2008 Olympics Sailing Center, where rows of yachts and sailing boats create a lively maritime scene.
Overnight in Qingdao.
